Former Bunim/Murray Productions Digital Media Head Assumes Newly Created Role to Drive Programming Strategy and Strengthen Talent Network Collaborations for the Many 2 Many Service
LOS ANGELES, CA, September 15, 2014 – Machinima, the first global many 2 many programming service for fanboys and videogamers, announced today that Daniel Tibbets will fill the newly created Chief Content Officer position. Tibbets will oversee all of Machinima’s programming efforts and talent development operations. Tibbets will report to Machinima CEO, Chad Gutstein who made the announcement today.
Tibbets is the latest executive management hire on Machinima’s new team. New General Counsel Chris Riley, and Chief People Office, Tricia White were appointed earlier this summer.

In his new role Tibbets will be responsible for leading Machinima’s programming organization, including content strategy and development, program planning and scheduling, production, acquisitions, and business affairs. In addition, Tibbets will also oversee talent relations, managing Machinima’s talent development team as they seek to help network talent grow their audience, gain access to production resources and funding, execute collaborations, and work with leading brand advertisers. Machinima currently has over 24,700 channels in its network, and Tibbets is charged with ensuring audience growth and professional development opportunity for these creators.
The Machinima network has 385 million subscribers and produces leading series including Inside Gaming, ETC, AFK, Chasing the Cup, Battlefield Friends, and Sanity Not Included on its channels, which includes Machinima, Realm, Prime, Happy Hour, Respawn, and Machinima LIVE on Twitch. Tibbets brings more than 20 years of industry experience to Machinima including launching multiple demographically targeted channels across digital platforms, including leading US mobile carriers. He has worked for companies including CBS Enterprises, Papazian-Hirsch/Rysher Entertainment, FOXLAB Inc. and Twentieth Television, GoTV, and most recently Bunim/Murray Productions. While leading the Digital Media Division at Bunim/Murray, Tibbets created a start-up production unit and oversaw the creation of new IP, branded entertainment production and creative development/production and sales for short-form and long-form content on platforms including web, mobile and digital devices for the division. He also worked to identify and incorporate brand extensions and opportunities for the company’s digital efforts including web series and investment opportunities. Tibbets holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing with an emphasis in International Marketing and Business from Arizona State University.
