LOS ANGELES, CA, March 19, 2014 – Machinima, the leading global video entertainment network for young males and videogamers, today announced Anthony J. “Tony” Vinciquerra has been elected to the company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Vinciquerra is currently a Senior Advisor for Texas Pacific Group, advising on acquisitions and operations across all of TPG’s investing arenas including TPG Capital, TPG Growth and TPG Opportunities. Prior to that, he served for almost a decade at Fox Networks Group, where he ended his tenure in 2011 as Chairman and CEO. The announcement was made by Allen DeBevoise, Co-Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Machinima.

“Having an executive of Tony’s stature and experience join our Board of Directors during this exciting new phase of strategic growth is invaluable to our organization,” said DeBevoise. “He is one of the most respected and accomplished media executives in the industry, and his experiences growing the Fox broadcast and cable networks groups over the past decade will help inform our content and ad sales strategy going forward.”

“As the broadcast industry continues to transition, there is not a more exciting place to be than Machinima,” Vinciquerra said. “The fundamentals are all positive. The network has a huge audience, unmatched brand recognition, and incredible scripted series like Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome, and Mortal Kombat: Legacy, just to name a few. The time is now to turn all of these positives into an even more thriving organization.”

While at Fox, Mr. Vinciquerra managed all operations, tactically and strategically, for the largest and most profitable operating unit of News Corporation that includes the Fox Television Network, Fox Cable Networks, Fox Sports, Fox International Channels, the related on-line businesses of those units and Fox Networks Engineering & Operations.

Mr. Vinciquerra and his team led Fox through a decade of unmatched profitability and growth, including taking the Fox Network to the #1 Network position (from fourth in 2002), where it remained for eight years – longer than any Broadcast Network in television history. Not only did Mr. Vinciquerra advance the template for carriage negotiations with cable operators, he also launched eight new cable networks in the United States over 10 years, including FX, Big Ten Network, Fuel, and the National Geographic Channel. He and the Fox international channels team oversaw growth to over 400 channels around the world. He also managed Fox’s ownership positions in Major League Sports Teams (Dodgers, Knicks, Rangers, Rockies) and World Class Arenas (Staples and Madison Square Garden).

Prior to joining Fox, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Hearst-Argyle Television, a position he had held since 1998. He first joined the Hearst Corporation’s broadcasting group as Group Executive in June 1997 and became Executive Vice President of Hearst-Argyle when the company went public in August 1997. He also had a successful stint as Executive Vice President of CBS’s television station group (1995 to 1997).

Mr. Vinciquerra is a native of Albany, NY, and was elected to the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame in 2009.
