Why aren’t there more WoW series?

I came across a site today, Tubefilter, that apparently covers news about web programming. I’ve long felt that this sort of Do-It-Yourself online culture would lead to something awesome. Now even World of Warcraft is seeing the fruits of the labor.

Tubefilter has covered a fair amount of the big machinima news, including our deal with Felicia Day, of The Guild. They also enjoy Red vs. Blue and the boys of Pure Pwnage, who are actually the subject of their latest post about WoW. Previously written about in my post about Christmas Time in Dun Morogh, they’re a comedy troupe based out of Canada whose show has been running for four years now!

This led me to ponder why there aren’t more series, machinima or otherwise. There’s Chronicle of the Annoying Quest, Dude Where’s My Mount, movies with bunches of sequels, and then The Guild and Pure Pwnage. Is this the year that machinimators and filmmakers will attempt to capitalize on these news articles about funding and sponsorship? I guess only time will tell …

Can you think of a World of Warcraft series that I’m missing?
